After successfully completing the Precision Measure Module, students will be able to do the following:

• Identify and use the English System of Measurement
• Demonstrate measuring skills using the fractional rule
• Understand the gradations on a decimal rule
• Convert fractions to decimals
• Recognize and use the Metric System of Measurement
• Convert measurements from the English System to the Metric System
• Apply a steel tape to measuring situations
• Figure area and volume
• Define precision measure
• Identify various precision measure tools
• Explain gradations on a micrometer
• Apply the micrometer to precision measure
• Identify and discuss the thumb lock vernier caliper
• Describe the proper way to care for a thumb lock vernier caliper
• Apply the dial indicator vernier caliper to precision measure
• Identify and discuss the use of the micrometer depth gauge.
