Career Lab

The TMS Career Lab is a modular-based, hands-on career exploration program that allows middle school students to identify, explore, and discover skills in a wide variety of careers.  Career topics range from themes in manufacturing, engineering, and technology to life skills that are also involved in the service industry careers for residential work and personal care.  Modules have been articulated with our high school course work while still focusing on delivering content that is developmental appropriate to the middle school child.

The curriculum reinforces components of the middle school teaching philosophy of allowing individual students learning preferences, cooperative group work, actively engaging activities and application to real-life issues.  Students participate in two-week hands-on modules developed by DEPCO, Inc. for a period of 18 weeks in 7th grade. The Career Lab will work in concert with the remaining middle school exploratory courses of Health, Art, Web Tools, & Tech Lab
