Mr. Wielgus began teaching at Triad Middle School in December 1999. He graduated from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville in 1999 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with a specialization in science. He obtained a Master’s Degree in Instructional Technology from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville in 2006 and a second Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from McKendree University in 2012. Mr. Wielgus taught 8th grade science for 6 years (along with math, history, and language arts at times) before starting a new exploratory class called Career Lab in 2005. He has coached the 7th grade baseball team since the fall of 2000, helped coach the wrestling team for 2 years, and was an intramurals assistant for one year. He has served on various technology committees during his teaching career, also served on the school improvement team, and currently teaches 7th grade Career Lab in the morning and serves as District Webmaster and Instructional Technology Specialist in the afternoon. He immerses himself into technology and has operated photography, videography, and graphic design businesses on the side. Mr. Wielgus is married to a school nurse and has three children.
